73 year old man receives compensation after being exposed to asbestos

Healys Solicitors specialised personal injury team has helped a 73 year old man claim compensation after was exposed to asbestos in work.

Our client was employed by the General Post Office (GPO)/ Royal Mail between 1956 and 1962.  During his employment he was responsible for the maintenance of the boilers where he removed asbestos regularly from boilers and pipe work.

In later life, our client complained of a persistent cough and shortness of breath.  After attending his GP he was diagnosed with Asbestosis as a result of his tortuous asbestos exposure.

The outcome of the case

Our client decided to contact Healys Solicitors’ specialist personal injury team was able to deal with his claim.

Our legal experts were able to help by instructing a Consultant Physician in respiratory medicine to gather evidence on our client’s behalf.  With this evidence, our team was able to secure our client £25,000 in compensation in an out of court settlement.
