Factory worker receives significant six figure settlement

Healys LLP’s specialised work place accident team has helped a factory worker claim compensation after he suffered severe injuries to his right hand.

In December 2012 our client Mr P was employed as factory worker. Mr P was working in a production line where he operated heavy machinery. Unfortunately, while operating the machinery, Mr P had an accident which resulted in the amputation of all of his fingers on right hand.

The outcome of the case

After recovering in hospital Mr P decided to contact Healys LLP’s work place accident team and one of our specialist solicitors, Paul Keown, a Partner in the London injury team, was able to deal with his claim. Paul was able to get expert advice and working with the Health and Safety Executive proved that Mr P’s employers had failed to provide appropriate training and supervision. It was also found that the machinery that Mr P was operating was in fact defective.

Paul was also able to get expert medical advice so that a rehabilitation package was awarded to cater for Mr P’s immediate needs. Paul was also able to get Mr P an interim payment so that specialised equipment and house modifications could be completed to improve Mr P’s quality life.

Through skilful negotiation, Paul was able to secure Mr P a significant six figure settlement from his employer. This would greatly see to any future needs of Mr P.
