Claim for the negligence of your bank
When we entrust our money to a bank, we are doing so because they provide a professional service and are there to keep our money safe. However, banks do sometimes make mistakes and, where a bank has provided a substandard or negligent service which has caused you to sustain financial loss, you may be able to claim compensation for the negligence of your bank.
When communications go wrong
An increasing proportion of banking-related communication is taking place on the internet, with customers choosing to use online banking facilities; partly for the sake of convenience but partly as a result of the desire of banks to automate services and cut costs.
Where negligently managed online account security services or system errors result in customers sustaining financial loss, those affected may be able to instruct professional negligence lawyers to claim compensation for the negligence of their bank.
An example from 2013
In 2013, a British woman sued her bank for the £93,000 that had gone missing from her account as a result of it responding to instructions from her hacked email account, in particular for its failure to confirm by telephone whether the instructions were from her.
Although the woman had previously signed a disclaimer apparently granting the bank immunity from “any responsibility and all liability in connection with electronically transmitted orders”, the woman was advised by her professional negligence lawyer that she nevertheless had strong grounds for proceeding with a claim against her bank.
Indeed, the manager of the Swiss bank concerned was said to have conceded that “he was extremely tired and stressed because of a lot of extra work due to people transferring money” – according to the claimant.
She added, “Normally he would have rung beforehand if he thought something was unusual, but he emailed this time and it had been intercepted by the hacker. He then transferred the money and by the time he eventually contacted me it was too late. The money had gone.”

Hello, hoping you can help.
A couple of weeks ago I logged into the app Clear Score, where news to me, I found I had a credit card to my name of £80 in default, with my old credit card provider Santander. This particular credit card I closed down last March 2019. In the last 4 weeks now I’ve been on the phone to the Santander complaints departments, thankfully they record calls and they listened to the phone call I made back in March 2019, where I clearly asked for the account/ card to be closed. Just to give you some back ground, this card was opened back in 2014 on an old address I was living at. Since 2014 I’ve had another credit card with Santander, and a 2 year fixed mortgage, all of which were not under the same profile. Another mistake Santander had made, everything should have been in one profile.
Now the reason I went onto Clear Score was to find out why I wasn’t able to get a simple credit card, and various other credit, and this was why, it was a mistake which was on Santander’s part, not mine. It’s cost me money throughout the second half of 2019.
They called me up this morning to say they are in the process of clearing the debt off my name, and they offered me just £100 in compensation which I said I would not accept.
Is this something you can help me with please?
Many thanks and look forward to hearing from you.

Hello I’m wondering if you could help me with an issue with Santander.
I received a tax refund of £6000 which Santander had frozen in my account – because of this I instantly sent the original documents from HMRC which confirmed this, and I attended a branch on 4 occasions with the documents that they faxed over. I have been told on the phone that I didn’t attend a branch, even though the branch manager then filed a complaint stating I attended 4 times and the matter should have been resolved. I was also told I’d receive a call within 48 hours which I still haven’t (after over a week), nor have I received a call off the complaints team. I have been forced into financial hardship as a result of this and been made to have default payments and late fees. I have requested a letter of deadlock which they wont give to me, and also the branch ref flagged my case which Santander has removed at the other end.
I would be grateful if you could assist me on this matter as I am not getting anywhere with this bank. Many thanks,

I was scammed into putting down a down payment on a house. I have lived in the house for almost a year and I have gotten a hold of the holdings company that owns the house – however they never got back to me until Christmas eve with an eviction notice. I have tried numerous times to get hold of them without any success and though I have been doing numerous repairs and landscaping work they now want to get me out of the house.
I just need to talk to someone that knows about a company’s negligence.

In late 2019, TD Bank had Andre Campbell employed as their professional financial advisor. I banked there at the time he was there.
He suggested putting all of money into an Annuity that earned 3 % annually.
When l wanted to get out of it, l called him at least 18 times, left a message to that effect & he never got back to me so l’d get the form to get my money out of the Annuity ASAP.
I sent an email to the branch manager & cc’d Andre in on it, asking that Andre be fired &
explaining everything. And instead of hurrying the process along, they closed my bank account.
This cost me approximately $400,000, since l didn’t have the money to invest in a particular stock that l’d been tracking from June, 2020. I did a lot of research about it, and wanted to purchase 2,000 shares when the stock was trading at $35 per share.
Due to his negligence, l couldn’t buy the shares. The stock rose to $300 per share. What can you do to help me sue TD Bank et al?

They depleted everything from stocks and bonds checking account savings account everything gone in a 3-year period. From back in the early 1970s I’m wondering is there any chance for reputation against Bank of America? Is it possible to still have a chance of getting family money back from them?

I have made an online money transaction from my bank account for a purchase but the transaction was delayed due to negligence from my bank. Now the purchase has been cancelled due to late payment and I was charged a penalty of $1000. Can I complaint against my bank and ask for a compensation for the money that I have been charged due to late payment ? I’d really appreciate your feedback on this.

June 1 Fraud Claim
Bank of America
Did not send Indemnification Form to PNC Bank until July 20th
Advised me on OCT 21 that the claim had been denied.
They dropped the ball.

i am calling about bank negligence. I was the victim of Fraud. On June 1 and new immediately that I needed to call the Fraud Dept. and I also called the FBI. When I called the Fraud Dept. I was told that I would have to go to the bank and have papers to fill out. I would need to get an appointment which I did the next day and they told me 10AM. I finally was able to see someone at 11:30 who said that there was no one at that bank that could do it, but she would try to get me an appointment at another branch for 2PM.
I knew that time was important because it was a wire transfer. To make this story shorter the fraud dept. did not send the indemnification form to PNC Bank until July 20th and I received a letter on Oct. 21 that the claim was denied. They dropped the ball.
