Healys Solicitors specialised personal injury team has helped cyclist claim compensation after he was involved in an accident.

Our client, Tim, was returning home from work and was approaching the Seven Dials roundabout in Brighton. A taxi, who was also on his way home, approached the roundabout and failed to notice Tim on his bicycle. The taxi collided with Tim and he was thrown from his bike on to the road.

Tim was rushed to hospital where he was diagnosed with serious and multiple fractures to his right wrist, left arm and foot. Fortunately for Tim he only suffered a minor head injury.

Tim spent a lengthy time is hospital and required numerous operations resulting him leaving his employment.

The outcome of the case

Tim decided to contact Healys Solicitors specialised personal injury team and one of our experienced partners, Jonathan Austen-Jones, was able to deal with his claim. Jonathan acted quickly and negotiated the release of several interim payments to cover the cost of Tim treatments and rehabilitation from his injuries. Eventually Jonathan was able to secure Tim a substantial six figure sum in compensation.

Jonathan Austen-Jones commented: “In this case it is important to act quickly to get the interim payment so Tim could get the best possible care. Often it is forgotten that the financial constraints of being hospital fir prolonged period can have serious impact on peoples’ lives.”
