Debt Recovery

Debt recovery can be broadly described as the collection of unpaid invoices.

When a service is provided or a product is sold an invoice is generally raised.

The invoice is your request for payment. If payment is not made then you may wish to commence Court proceedings where you ask the court to assist you in the collection of the invoice from the debtor.

Assuming there is no valid defence then you will be awarded a judgement which will enable you to try and recover the sums due by the adopting one of a number of enforcement options available.

At Healys Solicitors we can offer sound advice on collection procedures and we know what we are doing. We act for high profile companies and assist in the collection of their debts. We have vast experience so can advise you on the best way forward and what enforcements steps to take.

The likely costs will depend on the value of the claim. In addition to the Court fees (which are on a scale). Whilst ordinarily we charge on a per hour rate we will consider entering into a fixed fee arrangement at the point of issue and enforcement (on bulk issues) or a contingency fee prior to the commencement of proceedings.

(Note: for claims below £5,000 clients will not be able to recover any legal costs incurred.)
